Welcome to Sra. Presgrove's Spanish IIA class. It is my goal to help you successfully master Spanish IIA ; however, learning a language requires some of your time outside of the classroom. This year we will refine the listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills that you learned in Spanish I and work towards successfully mastering those four skills at an intermediate level of proficiency according to the ACTFL (American Council on Teaching Foreign Languages) standards. In addition to learning how to communicate in Spanish, we will learn about the hispanic culture, the different Spanish speaking countries, and even talk about the influx of the hispanic population in the United States. I hope to show you that not only are you taking this course to satisfy a graduation requirement or in hopes of being accepted into a particular college, but to show you the relevancy of the Spanish language even in the area where we live.
