About me:
This is will be my 5th teaching. I taught at Burke County High School (what a drive!) for a year before making the move to Greenbrier. I graduated from Aquinas High School in 2001. Then I attended Georgia College and State University where I received a BA in English and a Masters degree in Teaching.

Welcome to the website for our 9th Grade Lit class!
I love teaching this class because of the great novels we read throughout the year. In 9th grade literature we really focus on the different literary elements in each major genre of lit and how they impact a piece of literature. We will also work on your understanding of the different types of writing and how to create those writings.

American lit is a course designed to help students understand the struggle of a young nation's search for its identity. I love teaching this class because we really get a sense of our rich culture through the various readings. I hope students take pride and ownership in learning from and about their fellow scholars and patriots.
11th grade is a year full of testing. We will focus on improving writing skills especially in expository and persuasive formats. Practicing these types of writing will help prepare for the Graduation writing test in September.
